Michelle attended the American Institute of Clinical Massage where she was not only able to learn about clincial massage, but take part in extensive education in anatomy and physiology, pathology, cadavers, and holistic wellness, graduating as valedictorian in 2004 and became Nationally Certified in Massage. She achieved advanced certification as a Certified Medical Massage Practitioner – Masters Level, in 2005, and has to date over 1,600 hours of education and training in clinical massage therapy. In addition, she holds state licensing and certification in California as well as Washington State.
Michelle has gained fifteen years of valuable knowledge, training, and experience working with injuries, soft-tissue disorders, medical conditions and diseases. She has treated hundreds of clients who have recent as well as old injuries, recovering from injuries due to overuse and accidents, chronic pain, and those dealing with long-term diseases and medical conditions such as cancer, diabetes, fibromyalgia, bulging disks and joint replacements, carpal tunnel syndrome, frozen shoulder, sciatica, those who need pain management as well as pre and post surgery and more. She has worked with a range of patients from newborn babies to professional ball players.
Michelle specializes in a multitude of modalities addressing muscle imbalance patterns that can cause pain, hinder performance and lead to injury, common soft tissue injuries with an emphasis on decreasing recovery time and maximizing restoration of optimal function. These modalities are blended to create unique therapy treatments to help restore balance to the body and facilitate optimal tissue function, healthy range of motion and relief of chronic pain patterns.
Michelle will bring a broad range of knowledge, skills, and education, careful listening and communication, compassion, good assessment skills, and the ability to execute treatments that are customized based on individual needs. When Michelle is not in the office she enjoys spending time with her three children, horseback riding, traveling, and spending as much time as possible outdoors in nature.
